Our Story
The word mercer has a history.
Historically, a mercer was a merchant who dealt in the finest textiles—silk, velvet, fine linen. Someone who understood fabric not as a commodity, but as craft. Who knew what things were worth, what they were made from, and why that mattered.
That's the tradition Mercer Vintage was built on.
Where it started
Our founder grew up surrounded by objects with stories. Her grandparents were antique dealers—people who spent their lives recognizing quality, understanding provenance, and believing that the right thing in the right hands is worth preserving. By age 12, she was vintage shopping. Not because it was a trend, but because it made sense. Beautiful things deserve longer lives.
That instinct became a philosophy. That philosophy became a shop.
What we do
Mercer Vintage is a curated designer resale boutique based in Houston. We source and sell authenticated designer clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and home goods—each piece personally selected for its craftsmanship, character, and lasting appeal.
We are not a marketplace. We are not an algorithm. Every item here was chosen by a human eye that has been trained, over decades, to know the difference between something made to last and something made to sell.
What we believe
The fashion industry has spent decades convincing women to buy more. We're here to argue the opposite.
Our goal, genuinely, is to help you buy less. To help you become your own kind of mercer: someone who understands materials, recognizes quality, and knows that one exceptional piece will serve you longer and better than ten forgettable ones. We want to educate as much as we want to sell. A customer who understands what she's buying is a customer who buys better.
